Our range of available side by sides includes both our traditional side by sides with BioFresh or crisper drawers and our highly energy efficient BluPerformance range. BluPerformance is the new generation of stainless steel freestanding appliances which quite simply, have revolutionised the refrigeration market. Greater energy efficiency, plenty of space with an increased net capacity (in the same overall appliance size than their predecessors), quieter operation and enhanced performance are all hallmarks of this innovative new range.
To say BluPerformance appliances are energy efficient is an understatement. Our BluPerformance bottom mount fridge-freezer, rates at a market-leading 5.5 stars for energy efficiency. With such high star ratings, running costs are significantly reduced compared to that old fridge you might still be using.
How does Liebherr BluPerformance achieve such an outstanding energy efficiency yet not compromise on consumer conveniences?
Our research and development team found a way to compactly integrate refrigeration technology into the base of the appliance, therefore freeing up vital space throughout the appliance for even more food storage. More freezer space and food storage space? Who doesn’t want that! Combined with a specially mounted compressor, this innovative design makes the BluPerformance range exceptionally quiet.
So, what did we do with the additional storage space?
Firstly, we allocated more storage space to the BioFresh drawers. Now significantly larger, the Premium BioFresh drawers (0°C) can be set as either HydroSafe (with a higher humidity level) or DrySafe (with a lower humidity level) via the humidity control panel, making the fridge completely flexible when it comes to keeping your food fresh! Mounted on telescopic rails, the drawers open and close effortlessly even when fully stocked. Upon closing, the drawers self-retract gently due to the soft closing mechanism. Plus, with LED lights illuminating the contents, everything is easy to find. Selected BluPerformance side by side fridges also feature BioFreshPlus (-2°C & 0°C) and an internal ice maker so you always have filtered ice cubes at the ready.
Design follows function
For Liebherr, design follows function. There is no point designing an appliance, only to find that it is simply not functional. When bringing to life a new appliance, we ensure our features and functionality are first and foremost, before packaging them up in a timeless exterior. BluPerformance is no exception. With minimalistic lines and the new HardLine design, these appliances are a visual masterpiece in any kitchen.
Unique full size side by side fridge freezer
Liebherr stainless steel side by side fridge and freezers are also unlike most other side by side refrigerators on the market. What makes Liebherr side by sides unique is that they are made up of two individual appliances. This is beneficial for several reasons:
- Transport: they are much easier to transport than a standard side by side because it is in fact two appliances. Manoeuvring around tight corners, carrying upstairs or simply getting them through an entry way can be achieved with ease. Unlike trying to carry a single side by side appliance which can be extremely bulky and heavy.
- Flexibility: you can mix and match the individual appliances from Liebherr stainless steel side by sides to create the perfect combination for your household. More fridge, less freezer? Or less fridge, more freezer? Wine storage? BioFresh? This allows you to create the best side by side fridge freezer for your needs. Plus, with the freezer and fridge appliances positioned side by side, it means you can keep your regularly used items at the top of both appliances, to reduce the need to bend constantly throughout the day to retrieve your desired item.
- Independent cooling: because they are separate units each appliance has its own compressor, cooling circuit and electrical connection (wall plug) – they are completely independent. In the unlikely event a problem should arise with the fridge for example, the freezer would continue to operate as per normal or vice versa.
- No transfer of odours: as Liebherr side by sides are separate appliances, this means that strong odours cannot transfer between them.
